Add the following code to index.php by going to Appearance - Editor - Main Index Template (index.php)

That depends really, do you want your directory above or below the posts on your home page?
If you want it above the posts on your home page, add the code above right below the following
<?php apply_filters('show_category',''); ?>
Now you would see this
<?php apply_filters('show_category',''); ?>
<?php apply_filters('show_wpdir',''); ?>
If you want the directory below the posts on your home page, add the code above right before the following
</td><br />
<td class="sidebar_right" width="175" valign="top">
Now you would see this
Sorry, but you are looking for something that isn't here.
<?php get_search_form(); ?>
<?php endif; ?>
</td>
</tr>
</table>
<?php apply_filters('show_wpdir',''); ?>
</td>
<td class="sidebar_right" width="175" valign="top">
Are you sure? I don't have that code on my template
If you have a custom template, the above code may not work for you exactly as you see it. You might have to explore a listtle bit before you find exactly where it's supposed to go.
Have no fear, if you need help you can always ask. However if you plan on doing it yourself, please make a backup first so you always have something to fall back on.
